Easter weekend

Wow, what a busy month this has been.  I had volunteered to make the fifth grade graduation memory book and have spent all my time doing this......What was I thinking???? Not sure.  Especially, when the mom in charge is changing it.... Whatever.....
But it lead into my oldest son making his confirmation and lead to Easter weekend.  I love Easter.  I find myself singing Easter songs..... yes, just like at Christmas time except they don't play them on the radio.... Why?  Lift High the Cross, the Love of Cross proclaim. And of course, I am the resurrection, I am the life....... Then of course there are the baskets and the Egg Hunt.  I decided to have friends and family over for a egg hunt last year, and it lead to a great egg hunt this year.  17 kids last year, 37 this yr. ear..... WOW!!!! great weather and muddy water and Lots of fun had by all.  How great to watch kids actually being outside, enjoying what the good Lord gave us and spending time with family and friends.... the egg hunt and mud fight, led to a kick ball game and of Nerf gun teams..... What a day.  thanks to all that shared the day with us.
On another note, I have my first follower.... Yeah, I cant believe it, but I do. Awesome.

My Saturday afternoon as a taxi driver.

Yesterday, was crammed full of taxi driving and cheerleading.  Wake up call was 7:30.  Yep, on a Saturday. First stop was the school parking where my oldest Travis was dropped off to board the school bus to go to a Chess competition.  Then off we went with Spencer to the community Center to cheer him on while he dribbled down the court during his basketball game.  Most of the time I just shouted "Pass the Ball".  At what age do boys figure out that passing the basketball is better than hogging it?  Oh, well.  Spencer had fun.  Lost though.
Quick bathroom break and off to Jarrett's Rec. Basketball team game.  Jump shot and he made the first basket.  Way to go buddy.  His team has figured out how to pass the ball and they finished the game with a win.  Next stop, fast lunch break and off to Jarrett's next basketball game twenty minutes away with his travel league.  Mikayla, packs a bag full of toys, and Spencer and Logan grab snacks.
So, we arrive at the Rec. Center and the parking lot is full.  I kindly ask a lady I see walking out into the parking lot where she parked, (so I could grab her spot) and her response is "I'm walking to my to car".  uhhhhhh, I know.... But where?  Can't I ever catch a break?  I patiently wait and then grab her spot.  As we walk through the slush left from the big snowstorm, Mikayla starts to fuss that the slush is getting in her Selena Gomez shoes.... I remind her that perhaps that she should have worn boots... Hmmm.  Do you think she will next time?
I go in and find a small spot on the bleachers to squeeze my bum onto.  As the kids find seats near me, one of the dads turns around and asks "how many kids do you have?' (really?  He has known me for three years and is one of my neighbors.)  Five, I response.  I can tell by the look on his face he is surprised.
Jarrett and his teammates have a great game and win.  He makes a few jump shots himself.  That's my boy.
Now we just have enough time to jump into the mommy cab and off to gymnastics we go with Jarrett, Spencer and Mikayla in tow.  Logan goes home with dad who on the way picks up Travis from the school.
We arrive at Emeth Gymnasium an hour and half later.  While Jarrett and Spencer warm up Mikayla and I stake our claim on the bleachers with our coats and bags.  Off to the refreshment stand we go with our first round of food. Mikayla has a hot dog, chips, and a brownie.  When we return to our spots, guess what?  You got it... someone took our spots.  A family from our own gym..... and they claimed my pen and score sheet. Really?  Well, the boys had great routines that night, and we made it back home just in time for the 10 o'clock news.  Shower and bed.   Need my sleep for tomorrow.

First day of Blog

I have decided to start a blog.  Why you ask?  I dont have the answer to that.  I dont even have time to blog, but decided I wanted to keep a blog of my many adventures as a stay at home mom.  I am not even sure if anyone is going to read this, but I am hoping for the best.

I have been looking around at quilting websites and have noticed a lot of quilters blog about their projects.  This is what started my spark.  I thought perhaps I could blog about the quilts my fellow quilt club members and I work on.( there is currently only two members)  Does that meet the definition of a club?  We think so.....
